About

“Life goes by pretty fast. If you don’t stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.”
- Ferris Bueller
Photography helps me stop & look around more often.
There is so much to be found in every moment, every personality, every event and every location… even if it may take stopping a little longer or looking a little more closely.
Please give me a ring or drop me a line. I look forward to meeting you and learning more.
Equipment
My first camera was an Imperial Six-Twenty snapshot camera, which is pictured right.
Today, most of my work is shot with a Nikon D2X. The D2X utilizes a second generation CMOS sensor that rivals that of the Canon EOS-1D Mark II N.
It also provides a great deal of flexibility to shoot full-sensor, high-resolution 12MP RAW files 5.3 frames per second or to shoot at 7MP and 8 frames per second in the event high-speed photography is unexpectedly required. My Nikon D2X is always standing ready to respond when called upon.
To fully utilize the Nikon D2X’s superb imaging abilities, I also use a wide range of high-quality lenses, flashes, filters and other accessories. My lenses of choice are:
- Nikon Zoom Telephoto AF VR Zoom Nikkor 70-200mm f/2.8D G-AFS ED-IF Autofocus Lens
- Nikon Zoom Super Wide Angle AF-S Zoom Nikkor 17-35mm f/2.8D ED-IF Autofocus Lens
- Nikon Normal AF Nikkor 50mm f/1.4D Autofocus Lens
- Nikon Fisheye AF Nikkor 16mm f/2.8D Autofocus Lens
- Nikon Fisheye 10.5mm f/2.8G ED AF DX Fisheye-Nikkor Autofocus Lens for Digital Cameras
Post Production
Every step of the photographic process is critical to a streamlined output of the highest quality. In the field, I bring along a 15″ Apple MacBook Pro with 2 120GB fire wire hard drives for redundant storage of the high-resolution images.
Back in the studio, post-production work is completed with meticulous attention to detail and color correction. Image libraries are redundantly stored using G-Techonology’s RAID data storage solutions, which are well-known for their reliability. You may rest assured your photographs are safely archived at Josh Lane Photography.
